A downloadable simulation for Windows
Ant·S is an interactive sandbox populated by ants that are just trying to make a living. Left to their own devices, the initial army of 10 will try to settle and grow, but they might need some help to thrive.
Ant·S is more of an open-ended simulation than a game. Your role can be passive as an external observer, just checking in on how these ants are doing. You can also choose to interact by dropping sugar cubes or stones: sugar cubes will attract roaming ants, and stones can be used to build bridges over bodies of water.
There is no explicit objective or goal to achieve, but you can try to grow the population until you reach the population cap, or focus in making every ant productive. Alternatively you can just leave it open while you work, and check up on your ants every once in a while, to see how they are doing.
Manage your expectations, but I hope you enjoy the simulation, and you can email me with any thoughts you wish to share.
